In this very moment,
will you accept the sad and the sweet,
hold lightly stories about what's possible,
and be the author of a life
that has meaning and purpose for you,
turning in kindness back to that life when
you find yourself moving away from it?

The key to mental balance

Mental flexibility describes our outstanding human ability to be in complete contact with the present moment without defence or avoidance.

Through challenges and the associated identification with stressful thoughts and feelings or painful sensations and memories, we lose this flexibility and choose a path that takes us away from our values.

Learn to recognise important patterns of psychological inflexibility and free your clients in the midst of stressful experiences.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy

Your practical training at a glance

Seminar leader: Ralph and Corina Steuernagel

A seminar that will change your life and your work for good!

This training is the basis and core of all mental health programmes at EURASIAMED and a prerequisite for participation in further psychological training.

In eight training units you will lay an important foundation for transdiagnostic work as a mental health consultant, coach or therapist.

You will learn about the importance of psychological inflexibility as a cause of mental and psychosomatic disorders and how to correct it through six processes that promote flexibility: Towards a value-orientated, fulfilling and meaningful life full of development.

Bridges are built to closely related Buddhist psychology (especially ZEN and Japanese Morita therapy) and Asian health teachings (yoga, Ayurveda).

Mental flexibility | The essence in 8 lessons
  1. Purpose of Life - Mindfulness - Compassion
  2. Mental flexibility and inflexibility
  3. Cognitive fusion and defusion
  4. Let it be: Experience avoidance and acceptance
  5. Here. Now. - Presence
  6. What is essential: Values
  7. Act now: Committed Action
  8. Change of perspective: from the self-concept to the observer self

This practical training is conducted as an on-site seminar with 80% of pure practice and 20% of theory. In numerous exercises and role-plays in classic counselling settings and in the great outdoors, you will learn to cognitively understand and emotionally sense psychological flexibility as the basis of mental health.
