Corina Cezarina Steuernagel | Holistic Living Consultant

My personal biography is characterised by uprooting, flight, numerous changes of location and new beginnings. One thing was always particularly important to me in all these moving events: being at home, no matter where I was and for how long. I learnt the true meaning and effect of spaces on our mind and body not from books, but from my own life with its ups and downs.

I have been designing living spaces for 30 years to fulfil needs such as security, relaxation, growth and connection. My studies in residential and architectural psychology as a science of human living space gave me the professional background that underpins my work.

I would be delighted to create therapeutically healing living spaces with you at EURASIAMED.

Our protective refuge

„A primal motive of all living beings is to protect themselves from threats. In the course of human history, the caves and huts offering protection have developed into a highly complex living environment that satisfies many other needs in addition to the desire for safety."

These complex needs are at the centre of your psychological consultation at EURASIAMED and are incorporated into the holistic therapy concept.

Shaping space = shaping life

Many people think of interior design or Asian systems such as Feng Shui and Vastu when they think of interior design. We can integrate these as supplementary elements if required.

Modern home psychology is based on scientific findings and not just on traditions, gut feelings for beautiful rooms or metaphysical concepts. It enhances our quality of life in built environments.

Their newly created or remodelled habitats create a triad: WellBeing, Health and Wholeness.

Pathogenic influences of unhealthy rooms

Many people are still unaware of the extent to which our living and working spaces can put a strain on our body and mind. We have been experiencing this in our practice for 25 years.

Unhealthy spatial conditions often lead to social conflicts, psychovegetative and - e.g. in the case of building biology defects - direct physical disorders.

Because of this importance, the psychological medical history is always part of your Initial medical consultation. This is where we identify any need for action.

Indications and therapeutic options

As a valuable pillar of our holistic measures to improve mental health, residential psychology has proven to be helpful for the following problems:

  • Inner restlessness, tension, sleep disturbance
  • Lack of concentration, exhaustion, loss of performance
  • Unhealthy diet and lifestyle
  • Couple conflicts, family conflicts
  • Anxiety disorder, depression, eating disorder
  • Somatoform disorders
Do you really know your housing needs?

All needs that are related to one's own living space are recognised as Housing needs labelled. Their sum and realisation defines the Quality of living.

If needs are not conscious, they remain unfulfilled and we do not take any active measures. Instead, we feel an inner restlessness, discomfort and irritability. We often distract ourselves or follow attempts at substitution.

The analysis & fulfilment of your personal living needs is at the heart of our spatial psychology work.

Residential psychology in couple and family therapy

Rooms promote our Together, Against each other and Side by side. The effect on living together is direct and indirect. Directly, when personal and communal areas in a flat merge too much and crowding occurs. Indirectly, when the design of the rooms leads to irritation and flatmates are perceived as a stress factor. This leads to aggression or social withdrawal.

In your couples therapy at EURASIAMED, we integrate psychological elements according to your needs.

Toxic relationships are often expressed in

toxic living conditions and vice versa.

Our aim is to recognise and resolve this vicious circle.

Eight levels of residential psychology

to improve your quality of life
Sensory perception

Sensory impressions influence our thoughts, feelings, actions and numerous bodily processes.

Rooms can have an invigorating or calming, motivating and performance-enhancing effect.

Social relationships

Indoor and outdoor spaces play a key role in determining how we live together.

In this way, conflicts can be fuelled or harmonious relationships can be carefully cultivated.

Protection, security, control

Our sense of security and the protection of our private and intimate sphere are of paramount importance.

From a psychological point of view, this creates a feeling of security.

Appropriation & personalisation

Our sense of home arises psychologically through a sequence of appropriation processes.

This emotional attachment to a place is linked to our need for design.

Recovery & stress management

One of the main tasks of our home is to have a regenerative effect.

Tension-regulating rooms boost our energy levels and prevent illness.

Development & unfolding

Our living environment makes a major contribution to a fulfilled life with self-worth, satisfaction and vitality.

The main phases of life are considered in the context of living.

Space utilisation & behaviour

Over time, there is always a congruence between spatial settings and human behaviour.

This means that spaces unconsciously determine our behaviour.

Health & comfort

Spaces influence our mental well-being and physical health.

Their psychophysiological and building biology effects are relevant for preventive and curative purposes.
