Q & A

8 frequently asked questions from our patients about their prescription

This question is very justified.

When we take modern medicines such as analgesics, anti-allergics or thyroid hormones, we usually take 1-2 tablets a day. The more we take, the sicker we feel.

In orthomolecular medicine, which works primarily with micronutrients, and traditional Ayurvedic medicine, which uses plant extracts, the quantities taken are often many times higher.

The reason is simple: many natural products do not work in micrograms or milligrams. The daily dose of herbal powders is often 3-10 grams. If a capsule or tablet contains 300-500mg, for example, 3-3-3 of this is required to prevent underdosing.

It helps me to visualise the quantities of raw plant materials (roots, bark, leaves or flowers) from nature that are required to produce the contents of a capsule. Then I look forward to it and invite nature to help me with my health.

This depends on your acute complaints and any chronic illnesses.

We always think from consultation to consultation in 4 to 12-week cycles and update the individual prescription at each appointment - until we have achieved our therapy goals.

I often divide therapy into three phases:

  1. Active therapy to alleviate your symptoms > 1-3 months
  2. Stabilisation of acquired therapy results > 3-6 months
  3. Prevention and integration into everyday life > as required, unlimited

Of course yes. Anything that works can - if used incorrectly - have side effects.

This is why supplements and medicines belong in the hands of experienced therapists.

Please do not be fooled by marketing claims that natural products only do good and can never cause unwanted side effects. That is dubious.

The topic of interactions is extremely complex and must be analysed. In my practice, I often see patients taking 10, 15 or even 20 products a day. All of them are clever and well chosen on their own - but problematic in combination.

Therefore, a regular compatibility check of all income is part of your consultation.

These vary considerably and depend on the number of products used and the respective active ingredients. Based on experience, you can expect to pay €150-200/m for an average prescription in the first three months of active therapy. per month. After that, we often reduce the quantities and switch to a phase of maintaining acquired therapy results.

You can define a monthly budget at any time, which we will use as a guide. Every successful therapy also depends on the affordability of the measures used. That is why we attach great importance to cost transparency and sustainable planning.

Of course yes. Your individual prescription is just one of our therapy pillars.

Basically, the more salutogenic and disciplined you live, the fewer supplements and medicines you need. Conversely, the less you optimise your diet, exercise, breathing, sleep, personal hygiene, daily rhythms, social relationships and mental balance, the more we need effective products to achieve our therapeutic goals.

If you suffer from chronic illnesses, drug therapy is usually unavoidable.

I select your products based on my 30 years of experience with manufacturers from all over Europe, America and Asia. Product quality and effectiveness are my top priorities, followed by the respective company philosophy and the price-performance ratio.

Of course, you can choose cheaper products with seemingly the same ingredients.

However, please consider the following questions:

  • Why is the alternative product cheaper?
  • Where do the raw materials come from and where were they processed and how?
  • Does it really correspond to the exact composition of your original recipe?
  • What is the price per unit (e.g. capsule) for an exact comparison of active ingredients?
  • What therapeutic experience do the manufacturers have?

An example: I have been comparing vitamin D products on the market for years. Despite the same amount (e.g. 4,000 IU), the levels rise to 20ng/ml for some products and 50ng/ml for others.

Please understand that I cannot accept any responsibility for the effects of alternative products. Please inform me if you change your income.

I can understand this criticism in part, but I cannot confirm it in principle.

In my experience, the belief that a „normal mixed diet“ would lead to an adequate supply of micro- and macronutrients is often incorrect.

Targeted micronutrient therapy can not only compensate for diagnosed deficiencies, but can also have numerous effects on organs, functions and salutogenic processes.

Please take a look at the following information video that I have created.

If there are justified concerns about some nutrients and active ingredients due to an atopic diathesis with increased allergic reaction potential, I avoid them.

I also attach great importance to explaining our therapy strategy and the associated prescription to you in an understandable way in order to activate your inner doctor. Successful therapy requires three elements: You as the patient. Me as the therapist. The effective substance.

If you do not have a good feeling after my explanation, I advise against taking it. In the following information video I explain the meaning of placebo and nocebo.
