Panchakarma therapy in five lessons
The importance of Panchakarma The scope of professional Ayurvedic medicine extends far beyond the practice of traditional cleansing regimens. At its heart lies a deep understanding of Ayurvedic Milieu theory and humoral therapy – and thus the ability to understand disease processes from a systemic perspective and to develop tailored therapeutic strategies.
This professional development course is aimed at Ayurveda Professionals with a sound grounding in Ayurvedic medicine (Sutra), nutrition (Ahara), lifestyle and behavioural medicine (Vihara), the study of substances (Dravyaguna) and pharmacotherapy (Aushadha).
We work with a Ayurvedic medical terminology and explore the classical principles of Shodhana, Shamana and therapeutic preparation and aftercare in greater depth. This is not merely about detoxification techniques, but about integrating them effectively into an individual, multimodal therapeutic strategy.
Even if you do not wish to carry out Panchakarma treatments yourself, this knowledge can enrich your existing therapeutic work – from nutritional therapy and herbal medicine through to manual therapy and psychosomatic support. The aim is to gain a deeper understanding of Ayurvedic therapy and its responsible application in modern practice.
This specialist training course, comprising five modules that build on one another, provides a thorough understanding of traditional Panchakarma therapy – from its medical principles and therapeutic implementation through to individual aftercare and its integration into modern Ayurvedic practice.
The specialist training course is led by two experienced lecturers who combine traditional Indian Ayurvedic medicine with decades of practical experience in therapeutic treatment in India and Europe.

Would you like to discuss your personal prospects in Ayurvedic therapeutic medicine? If so, please feel free to arrange an introductory meeting with Ralph via our Student counselling.
Ayurvedic medicine cannot be fully grasped through theoretical knowledge alone. A key foundation for a deep understanding is conscious perception through all five senses – particularly through one’s own body.
We therefore invite you to explore selected aspects of this specialist training programme in greater depth through guided self-awareness exercises. From simple preparatory measures, through diet and lifestyle, to restorative treatments, you will gain first-hand experience of the classic principles of Panchakarma therapy.
To this end, you will receive additional guidance and suggestions for self-exploration, which you can put into practice independently and in line with your personal circumstances.
From our video library
In Ayurveda, spring is considered the best season for „Shodhana“ - the release of harmful residues that shift our body's environment in an unphysiological way.
The supreme discipline of all cleansing measures is „Panchakarma“: five purging procedures that were described in detail and carried out 2,000 years ago in northern India.
Every detox must be professionally prepared, carried out and followed up. For this we need time, peace and strength - because Panchakarma is initially stressful for body and mind.
How much time should we plan for an effective, authentic Panchakarma cure? Are the 10 or 14 days often offered sufficient to achieve a lasting cure effect?
